I can truly say the best thing that happened to me as a result of a tragic injury (Achilles tendon rupture) was meeting up with Mr Henry Atkinson. From the first time we met till our last appointment he was friendly and professional. He game me all the information I needed and talked me through different treatment plans, but in the end the decision was mine and he supported me in my decision. Throughout the whole process of the operation he was open with me as to what the risks are and how we would deal with them if and when they arise and this made me feel comfortable and minimized my worries. I had the most stress free procedure possible with an excellent anesthetist and great after surgery support. 5 weeks post operation I picked up a infection and I got the immediate attention and support I needed to deal with it as soon as possible and get back on track with my recovery plan as soon as possible. Overall I can say that my experience with Mr Henry Atkinson was second to none and would highly recommend him to any patient that needs support and guidance through one of life's more difficult and stressful times. I have worked alongside Mr Atkinson for 4 years at a private hospital in north London as a physiotherapist. He is always very approachable and help to lend an ear and give his advice and input whenever asked. He has superb bed-side manner treating all his patients with respect giving them the time they need. His surgical results speak for themselves - all his patients I have seen post-operative as delighted with their recovery and symptom relief. A great man and fantastic surgeon.
