Mr Atkinson was extremely kind and caring when I consulted him about my knee. He explained clearly what the MRi showed and carefully explained the options for treatment. He happily answered all my questions and gave valuable advice on post-operative recovery. This was most reassuring and helpful, he is very approachable. My knee replacement operation went extremely well thanks to the skill and professionalism of Mr Atkinson and his team. Mr Atkinson organised and monitored my aftercare, and my recovery was rapid and extremely successful. I was even able to play tennis again after 6 weeks! I have no hesitation in highly recommending Mr Atkinson and will always be most grateful to him for such a successful operation and outcome.

Dr Atkinson listens very thoroughly and is easy to talk to about the health condition. He shows good understanding of the impact on the patient's daily life. His advise as to treatment options is excellent and perfectly adapted to the situation. My operation by Dr Atkinson was very successful and I made a fast recovery with no complications. He has anticipated and explained all post-surgery details and questions.

One of the things that really stands out about Mr Atkinson is his skill in treating you as a person and not a patient number. I have met several Orthopaedic Consultants and he stands out as by far the most welcoming. He listens and guides, rather than enforces. His manner is warm. His surgical skills are second to none. Like the ways he tries less 'standard' treatment, tailoring it for you as a person (lifestyle etc). He has been my Consultant for 10 years and due to a chronic condition I know I have more surgeries to come. I would only want these carried out by Mr Atkinson because I trust him fully.
