I first met Mr. Makki about fourteen months ago when he assessed me for an arthroscopic repair to my left rotator cuff. He was relaxed and made me feel completely at ease. The surgery was undertaken on the eleventh of September 2021. Repairs to both the supraspinatus and infraspinatus tendons, both of which had full-thickness tears. Some reprofiling of the left clavicle was also necessary. Postoperatively, I began physiotherapy which continues at the time of writing (06/12/2021). A follow-up review with Mr. Makki demonstrated that my recovery was going well, and ahead of schedule. I was discharged from Mr. Makki's care. If every consultant I had seen over the last 72 years was as thorough, courteous and professional as Mr. Makki the NHS would not be struggling.

Mr. Makki has treated me for over 2 years for a fractures humorous causing my arm to be unattached the the only thing holding the arm was the nerve cord and vein. the arm was not knitting together so He fitted a plate from my elbow to the shoulder with regular physio sessions has restored the limb to a good functioning order. A great job especially when you consider the state I was in. due to Mr. Makki and his staff has shown great patience and excellent and regular appraisal's of my situation and I will always remember the consideration for my situation. I have had experience of good and bad care. The most important thing that I find is sadly lacking, is effective communication skills, including active listening. Mr Makki showed empathy and understanding and listened to my concerns . I did not feel rushed at any point and he answered all my questions. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything really thoroughly so that I could make an informed decision about surgery . He was friendly, reassuring and had a sense of humour, which I appreciated. Other health professionals could learn a lot from Mr Makki.

Mr Makki Is the ultimate professional, my total shoulder replacement was not straightforward, but he thought outside the box and I have total movement and painless recovery. Bedside manner and transparency throughout the whole process second to none.

Its fair to say that all NHS staff are truly wonderful and have certainly gone through hell and back these past couple of years. I like many have sadly needed to visit and use the incredibly wonderful service provided by the NHS. I have meet some truly incredible people, nurses, ambulance crew, surgens to name but a few. Somebody wrote that My Makki provided a unique service where the smallest of gestures made the world of difference to them, well its true. My operation was cancelled and Mr Makki personally came to me and told me why, he not only took the time to explain my whole procedure but came to see me every day until my operation. Pre and post operative care has been nothing short of brilliant and I have truly felt cared for and respected, so thank Mr Makki for your care, your experience, knowledge and kindness. Please make constructive suggestions on how they could improve to give even greater care. I believe that many could learn from Mr Makki and his team he/they are their own centre of excellence.
