I had outstanding care from Mr. Amin. I ruptured my Achilles’ tendon in April this year. My local hospital has a protocol to treat this injury non-surgically but I was not fully happy with that decision. When I met Mr. Amin, he clearly explained the pros and cons with surgery and ultimately I decided to go ahead with the operation (return to sport was a factor). The surgery was very successful and the care from Mr. Amin and his team at London Bridge Hospital was excellent in all ways. Post-Op, the follow up appointments were helpful and positive. Mr. Amin also recommended an excellent physio for rehab. My recovery is going well and I couldn’t recommend Mr. Amin highly enough.

I highly recommend Dr. Amit Amin as a foot specialists and surgeon. He correctly diagnosed my issue and warned me of a potential break -- which was great foresight as I broke a bone in the inflamed area less than 6 months later. He was a very helpful in reviewing my case and always available by email to answer my questions. The surgery itself was unusual given the nature of the injury and I felt very confident in his care. It has been 7 months since my surgery and I have recovered faster than I would have expected and have recently started running at the 6 month mark. I hope that I don't have further issues, however if I did, I would go back to him.

A highly regarded medical colleague. I have always found Mr Amin to be friendly, approachable and thorough. He offers a first rate service for my patients at London Bridge Hospital and the Fortius Clinic; I have no hesitation in recommending him for either straightforward or complex foot and ankle injuries which would benefit from an honest and thoughtful second opinion.

I saw this doctor once. He sent me for an injection and ultrasound. He missed my follow up appointment due to him being late and to this day have not seen him again. Each subsequent visit was with a different member of his team.To this day i have no feedback regarding the ultrasound or the outcome of the injection. What i do know is my foot pain has continued for 2 and a half years and i think the injury has significantly worsened.

Response from Mr Amit Amin

I am very sorry to learn about your poor experience. In the NHS at St George's I work in a team, and cannot see all my patients individually, simply because of the large burden of work to be done. St George's is a major trauma centre and hence my work is prone to variability, and on occasions I can be late as a result. Given the great challenges placed upon me, I have recently resigned from St George's and will be practicing fully private, in the hope of providing a more bespoke service. You should speak to your GP, as if you have severe foot pain, you can be easily referred to Kingston or Epsom/St Helier, if you remain sceptical about your treatment at St George's Hospital.
