I selected Dr Adam Joiner as my specialist for a number of reasons. Firstly, his credentials are excellent, he has worked in the North West and also because he was almost fully booked up, suggesting he is a well-sought after specialist. I am sure others are equally as good. I contacted Psychiatry-UK in order to answer some long-standing questions I have always had which I had put down to my dyslexia. e.g. Not being able to finish tasks and activities, procrastination to the point of mental torture whilst struggling to start a task and being focused on tasks and activities. Dr. Joiner perused the documents I forwarded and asked all the relevant questions to elicit more information. It was easy to establish a rapport with him and to speak and chat in an informal type of way. He made me feel very relaxed and was able to answer the questions I had been struggling with for years. He explained the symptoms I have been experiencing are common to a specific type of ADHD and recommended medication together with all the other things I had been trying previously. I was very pleased with his manner, tone and patience when I was thinking. . . He came across as very knowledgeable, reassuring and I felt I could share easily with him things I had never spoken about before. Thank you
