Dr Feltbower was considered, diligent and approachable- he cared for my 12 year old daughter beautifully. Also efficient. Gave us print outs of the illness my daughter had for further reading. Overall a brilliant experience. Thank you so much.

Honestly lost all faith in the NHS and doctors after having the unfortunate luck of dealing with this "doctor" he belittled me and left me in more pain than when I arrived. I went in with groin pain and a swollen testicle, Dr Stephen feltbower made it very clear I was an inconvenience to him and that a&e was only for life threatening emergencies and that I shouldn't be there to which I responded that I did not want to be there anymore than he clearly wanted me there. He man handled my testicle and did not look at my groin whatsoever. He told me that my testicle looked totally normal and sent me out the door with some antibiotics which made no difference whatsoever. Now I was at my gp on the 27.6.23 and she advised I would need an ultrasound and if anything changed or got worse to go to a&e. I contacted nhs24 on the 5.7.23 who also advised that I go to a&e. At this point my testicle has been swollen since the last week of May but some how managed to heal itself for Dr Stephen feltbower to look at it. I made an emergency appointment the following day (7.7.23) with my gp who took 1 look at my testicle and said it was clearly larger than it was the week before when she seen it. So she made an emergency ultrasound appointment for me. So somehow I had a swollen testicle for 6 weeks that again fixed itself for 1 morning then the following day became more swollen than it was the previous 6 weeks before that. If anyone reads this I'd honestly advise staying away from this doctor, very rude and untrustworthy.

Response from Dr Stephen Feltbower

I was sorry to hear that this patient had a negative experience of his emergency assessment. For confidentiality reasons, I will not provide information on any patient-specific aspects in this forum, but suffice to say that the case has also been fully handled through the Patient Relations department in accordance with usual processes. In general terms, it is important to use emergency departments only for life & limb threatening emergencies, and I see it as the role of healthcare workers in emergency departments to provide this information as well as providing an emergency assessment. Unfortunately, emergency departments often find themselves at the mercy of other parts of the healthcare system which do not function effectively or provide incorrect advice to attend the emergency department.
