Before booking my colonoscopy, I did my research into the best person to undertake the procedure. I thought that if I use Tripadvisor to see where to stay or eat, it made sense to check out who I wanted to carry out my colonoscopy. After researching many different professionals, I decided on Dr Sebastian Barton at the Chaucer Hospital and I am so glad I did. I was very nervous about the procedure and taking the Moviprep the day before. Dr Barton reassured me that there was nothing to worry about and the thought of the entire process was a lot worse than the actual procedure itself. Well he was correct. Dr Barton carried out the colonoscopy and I can say I have had worse visits to the dentist than this procedure. Dr Barton ranks top in my opinion on the comfort scale, as I can honestly say I felt no discomfort at all and watched the procedure throughout on the screen. Also, if as I was you are worried about the Moviprep, please don’t be as it is not difficult, and I personally found it an easy process. It does taste quite foul, similar to salty lemons, but certainly nothing to worry about. I also found Dr Barton very reassuring in the follow up appointment. In short, if you must have this type of procedure and you can book Dr Barton, I would not hesitate in recommending him. Mr P Webb

I have had many colonoscopy procedures over recent years both at the Canterbury Chaucer private hospital and at the (NHS) Kent & Canterbury hospital. They have all been with D Barton who I have always found to be a real professional, very kind and fully understands your concerns and listens to your questions always making you feel fully at ease. Dr Barton is simply one of the best, someone who I fully trust, respect, and without any hesitation recommend him 110% to anyone for their treatment. Thank you Dr Barton for all your endeavors on my behalf they are fully appreciated, you are a credit to the Canterbury hospitals area and long may you continue.

After suffering with crippling bowel symptoms for many Months and being bounced from one hospital to another, being told I had IBS I was referred to the lovely Dr Barton, he listen to everything I had to say, I never felt he didn’t take me or my symptoms seriously. After a long length of test and cameras Dr Barton diagnosed me with Crohn's disease and I was put onto a new drug, which has completely changed my life, Yes I have Crohn's disease but I feel normal again and this is ALL thanks to Dr Barton. He is professional, kind and understanding he actually listens to what you have to say and then takes action to help you. I would never ever go to another Gastro consultant. I 100% recommend Dr Barton to anyone thank you again Dr Barton keep up the great work

Dr Barton was professional, kind, friendly and understanding, he took time to explain details that could have otherwise been confusing, together with the hospitals findings and he also listened to what I had to say with patience. (This is from a patient who has a slight phobia of hospitals and anything medical). I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr Barton to anyone seeking medical treatment.
