I was extremely nervous at the start, I didn’t know what to expect, I was very emotional; however Dr Denny was patient and hand a very calming approach, explaining the process and highlighting expectations. During the session I found it easier to talk to him and he was very understanding and supportive.

I felt like my issues were being heard instead of being judged, which made it easier to talk about them. Dr Denny was very considerate during the whole consultation and it really makes you feel like you're in good hands.

Dr Denny was excellent in our session and took the time to listen to my issues and discuss an appropriate treatment plan. Thank you.

I have always felt quite apprehensive about speaking with a psychiatrist however Dr. Denny instantly put me at ease, and as the session progressed I knew I had made the right choice. He is incredibly genuine and speaks to you with honesty. He has helped me to finally realise how I can access the help that I need and how to process my past trauma. I feel a weight has been lifted from my shoulders and sharing my story with him allowed me to start the journey to my own recovery. It is unfortunate that the NHS do not invest more in mental health services, however Dr. Denny is a genuine psychiatrist who prioritises what is best for you without any pressure of additional costs. I do wish I could have more sessions with him, as he is a fantastic Doctor.

Profile

I am a Consultant Psychiatrist. I was an NHS Consultant in Adult Mental Health for over 20 years and now work privately.

I trained as a doctor at Bristol University. I have a degree in Psychology and a Certificate in Psychotherapy. I became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 1996 and a Fellow of the College a decade ago.

I make sure my patients receive a comprehensive assessment and appropriate treatment. In addition to prescribing medication, my psychodynamic approach helps to understand how past experiences relate to present difficulties. This can often be the key to recovery.
