I recently found myself in the unfortunate position of having to have emergency surgery to remove an implant due to infection.. but count myself lucky to have had Dr Karpati as my anaesthetist.. I had never met him before the surgery, but quickly felt at ease with him.. he listened to my concerns about previous bad experiences with having been anaesthetised with genuine sympathy, & assured me that he would look after me. As I had eaten that day he explained very clearly the process he would need to follow, and when the time came he was very considerate of how frightened I was, & tried to make the experience more bearable.. The aftercare e.g. guidance re my pain relief.. has been very much appreciated.. I hope that when the time comes for additional surgery to replace the implant, that I will be able to have this anaesthetist again..
