Would you be kind enough to convey our sincere thanks to all staff at Fern House Surgery. We have always found them most helpful and professional.
I visited the surgery yesterday, and as a deaf person (with hearing aids) I am very used to lip reading. My wonderful GP, Dr. Ahmed Mayet, ensures that I have face to face appointments as I do not hear too well over the telephone.
Dr. Mayet is very professional, but also very caring, and always seems to go that extra mile for the patients who see him, and I do know quite a few.
He recognised my illness so that I am also under the care of a Specialist at Addenbrook Hospital. Both my husband and I cannot praise him enough.
Thank you
A couple of years ago my Mum nearly died and Dr Mayet really supported me and he probably doesn't even realise.
My Mum had an accident at home and I found her and called the ambulance. She was very close to dying. When she was discharged from hospital I was scared and worried. There is only my Mum, my little sister and me home so I felt responsible.
I went to my Mum's first GP appointment with her and it was Dr Mayet. He spoke about her brain injuries, brain surgery, etc. When we got up to leave he asked me to sit down and he actually asked me how I was feeling so I began to tell him. I explained I was about to start my GCSES but I felt like I couldn't cope with home and school and worrying about Mum.
Dr Mayet arranged for me to see a lady in Chelmsford and he kept in touch with my Mum to see how I was getting on. The lady said she I had some post traumatic stress and she taught me how to manage things.
I have so much to thank Dr Mayet for because I got through my GCSES and I am now at college studying Mechanics. I know that my Mum is being looked after by the best so I can relax and work towards my future.
Dr Mayet has been a huge support to me. In 2019 I sustained traumatic brain injuries and had brain surgery at Addenbrookes Hospital. Any problems I've had, Dr Mayet has investigated and treated immediately, even during COVID, nothing has been too much trouble.
I have Bipolar Disorder and I am fully aware of how important it is to have a GP you can talk too, that you trust. I feel very lucky to have the Doctor/patient relationship that I have with Dr Mayet. I know that I can sometimes be a very difficult patient to treat but Dr Mayet always understands and supports me.
My husband has recently had wonderful care from Dr Mayet.
He first saw him with suspected Lung cancer and was immediately
fast tracked for many hospital and clinical tests.
Fortunately they ruled out cancer and we were informed of the good news
from Dr Mayet straight away and is now treating my husband for less serious
conditions.
I wanted to say a huge thank you to Dr Mayet for his fantastic care and thorough
investigations. He is a great listener and explains everything in detail which is a
comfort when you are worried. We are very relieved and extremely blessed to be
under the care of such a great doctor
Dr Mayet has looked after me for the last few years with an ongoing complex stomach condition and has always listened to me when others had ignored me. He has played a fundamental part in getting me diagnosed and I couldn’t be more grateful. He has also recently been treating my mum and has gone above and beyond to help get her the support and tests she needs.
