Initially I was concerned about the waiting times for assessment and also that I wouldn’t be believed or that I didn’t have ADHD. That I was wasting the time of this system. This can be a common thought for women my age who have undiagnosed ADHD. The treatment I have received through Psychiatry UK has been nothing short of amazing, my assessor listened to me, my QB checks were simple to do and the people who I interacted with were always helpful, courteous and kind. I always felt listened to and valued, that the issues that I have had are symptomatic of ADHD and that I wasn’t just *ditzy * or a *flake*. Without this service I would have continued under the impression that I have generalized anxiety disorder and depression and for whatever reason, I was just always falling short of my peers, leading to poor self-esteem and maladaptive coping strategies. Now I am on medication that helps me with my ADHD, I can keep a clean home, follow tasks through properly, not make impulsive rash decisions. It has been life changing and it all goes back to the help I have received through Psychiatry UK. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
