I first met Deborah when I was in a very dark place, having been told that my Cancer prognosis was very uncertain. It was from this point on that I felt immense warmth, compassion, understanding and encouragement over and beyond the normal nursing duties, that has created a lifetime bond and friendship with the lovely Deborah Butcher. She stood by my Husband Peter and I throughout my massive Total Pelvic Excenteration operation and recovery, and was always there on the end of the phone when I was having one of my many bad days at home. Deborah is a true angel, and a massive credit to the NHS system, who has exceptional patient care skills, in addition to a wealth of proffesional nursing knowledge. Deborah is part of an incredible team, who not only saved my life, but also gave me ongoing support, help, and encouragement, which has resulted in my remarkable recovery both physically and mentally. A truly amazing lady and a fantastic nurse. Deb was kind, helpful, explained, listened, dried tears when I cried and helped me to make the right decision with my partner a Peter when I didn't know which way to turn. Without her input I wouldn't have opted for the surgery I needed to remove cancer, he explained everything in such great detail to us and made a very traumatic time much more bearable. Thanks to Dub, Miss Lawrence and Peter I had the necessary surgery and hopefully now will continue to recover as well as currently. We couldn't have asked for better care and help when we needed it most. Deb even visited me on the ward post op to ensure that all was well. We can't sing her praises enough, a shining example of what all nursing staff in the NHS should aspire to, nursing is a vocation and this very lovely lady is a perfect role model for same. Thank you Deb for being so amazing and above all being available when we needed you most and for the best care and nursing in the clinic, it meant so much to us and gave us a fighting chance for the happy future we are now hoping to have.
