Staff are good to me .
I enjoy spending time with staff and they have given me some jobs on the ward which I enjoy.
My husband was in Amber ward for 6 months All the regular staff are brilliant and dedicated. They all treated my husband with kindness, respect and consideration always with a smile even though until signs of recovery began they received no response. They were always patient, supportive and willing to help myself and any members of the family whilst we went through a very traumatic and upsetting time. I don't deny there were times, when we could see no signs of recovery, we began to dispair and question whether he was in the right place but gradually a treatment plan began to work and he is now out. Obviously there is room for improvement, more staff would relieve the work load on the regular staff but staffing issues are a problem everywhere. My one main issue which I assume was a decision made much higher up the line of decision makers is to put dementia patients who are really ill in with patients who have had breakdowns. These patients require one to one attention which then limits the amount of time staff have with breakdown patients.
This area of health care is unique and cannot be compared with other hospital care so there are a lot of different rules and regulations to get used to but we as a family will always be grateful to Whiteleaf.
We also have nothing but praise for Dr Murray who is extremely dedicated, hard working and was more accessible to us than some top consultants. He is working in an area which doesn't always receive the recognition it deserves but he certainly does deserve top recognition.

I am happy with this service . Sometimes there is a communication problem that staff tell patients what's going on.
