Service is extremely poor.
Staff are rude and unhelpful, and do not listen to patients needs.
Who knows more about you and your mental health, you? Or someone with a bit of paper who doesn't see you in daily life?
I have been in crisis several times over the last few weeks, and frequently dismissed and spoke down to, even after my GP agreeing voluntarily going inpatient would be a good idea. The mental health team at Whiteleaf have frequently told me to just wait to see the complex needs team, which is fine, if the wait wasn't a year long, and if I wasn't frequently dissociating, hurting myself, or completely melting down and feeling highly suicidal.
The standards of respect you expect to receive are not met, and it often feels that the help you receive depends very much upon your diagnosis, and that they're happy to dismiss you and put it down to identity issues and attention seeking instead of what it really is.
The ambulance services have come out to the property twice over the last week and a half, with a&e mental health teams agreeing that the treatment received at Whiteleaf was less than satisfactory. Ambulance staff have been lovely, and I can't fault them at all.
Whiteleaf staff have spoken down to me, shoved their qualifications down throats, and assumed based on what they've heard over the phone, instead of trying to get more face to face appointments sorted, to actually see the severity of the situation.
Never once in a face to face, has it been asked how I actually am, only how the last week has been, and at my last face to face got told usually I'd have been discharged by now.
The treatment is disgusting, and it has got to the point where my husband has quit work to take care of me, as I'm not safe on my own right now, and the mental health services are being less than cooperative.
As someone who has been on and off of wards for my mental health, and has recently moved to the area I am appalled. Back in Birmingham if I was slipping this hard this fast, there would have been a lot more involvement and intervention.
Great service and my care coordinator is great help and great support
I met with my care coordinator and we discussed my care plan.
Staff are caring, compassionate and very understanding regarding my needs.
Nothing. Except administering medication and ward rounds. Getting no near/where drugs on the ward. Verbal abuse stuff/clients.
Staff are kind, courteous and approachable, activity co-ordinator has the room open all the time but when she is not here, the room is rarely open.
Very good
Poor staff kept checking on me all the time; turning light on all the time at night. Trying to tell me to take medication I don’t need.
Brilliant care from the team on the ward; could not ask for better.
No marmalade, washing powder was not good clothes dirty after washing. Light in room was poor, to controls not enough. Food cold, no hot water.
