i would like to tell you about the wonderful treatment I received from everyone at the Tetbury Hospital when I visited last Saturday (23rd April 2022) for a planned operation to have a cataract removed from my left eye. I was extremely nervous as I do not have any central vision if my right eye and I was fearful of being left without sight. The atmosphere when I arrived was so peaceful and calm. I was greeted by a very nice nurse named Jenny who very efficiently went through the medical form which I had filled in. She explained everything and put me at ease. Then another Nurse named Jess came to me and immediately picked up on my anxiety and went through the proposed operation. I felt much calmer when she asked me if I would like her to hold my hand during the procedure which I immediately said yes. Mr. John Ferris greeted me when I arrived in the treatment room . He was so reassuring and gave me so much confidence. He explained everything as he went along. I cannot put into words how wonderful it was holding Jess's hand all the way through. The whole thing was over very quickly, the relief was overwhelming. I was then put into a wheel chair and taken to another lovely lady called Penny. She explained the after care i.e what to do and the necessary drops to be put into my eyes etc. Mr. Ferris telephoned me the following (Sunday) afternoon to ask if I was alright. I just couldn't thank him enough for giving me my sight back. I was amazed how bright and clear everything was. I could not believe how beautiful things around me were. I thought everything in the house needed decorating, but to my husband's relief it is perfect. It brought tears to my eyes when I looked out to see the garden. It is a long time since I been able to see the beauty of it all and also right to the bottom where all the trees are sprouting their new green leaves. I would like to say a huge thankyou to Mr. Ferris for the gift he has given me and to all his team. Also all the admin staff arranging everything. I can unreservedly recommend this wonderful Hospital to everyone. Sarah Stretch.

All the staff were very friendly and helped to put me at ease for my cataract operations. Jenny and Joan were the only two names I can remember unfortunately but all were excellent. I am normally an NHS patient but elected to go private as the NHS waiting list was too long but I am sure an NHS patient would receive the same care. Parking was good too! Would definitely recommend this hospital, especially because it was small, the staff were friendly and caring. Everything was exceptional!

The staff were wonderful. They were so helpful and I was given all the information I needed and they helped me to understand what was about to happen. They all seemed so happy, including the doctors, which made so much difference when having a procedure that was going to be painful. The hospital itself was so clean and in no way did I feel that I was at risk of any germs etc.

I went in for a procedure to correct Dupuytren's contracture on my right hand on the 16th March. The service I received prior to the operation day and on the day itself was the best I have ever received at the hands of the NHS. The friendliness, professionalism and care shown by my surgeon Jemma Rooker and all of the wonderful nurses was absolutely excellent and could not be improved in any way.

Even with the restrictions of Covid, the staff were considerate, friendly and helpful. The surgeon who carried out the procedure explained what was involved beforehand, and informed me of progress throughout. The surgery was quick and totally painless (under local anaesthesia) and I was able to walk out of the hospital afterwards.

Had my first cataract done here 28/2/22. I couldn’t ask for better treatment. Everything was explained to me before the operation, and after care was explained as well. I was given all the paperwork and eyedrops before I left. I chose the music to listen to as well.

I recently had a cataract operation there and was very happy wit the service, help and friendly staff there. The care during the operation was excellent with the surgeon talking to me and giving reassurance all the time, and the nurse was holding my hand all the time, again to reassure me. I cannot speak too highly of them.
