I am a sufferer of meniers disease. Like a lot of conditions I have good days and bad days. I attended the accident and emergency department as I was having "the worst incident of vertigo i have ever suffered". My partner stopped in the car park and asked a security guard for his assistance to get me inside as I was unable to walk or move unaided owing to the vertigo. He fetched a wheelchair and then my partner had to struggle to get me inside. We got booked in at the reception desk after a lengthy wait and my partner despite being my carer was told she had to leave. I got placed in a walkway on the wheelchair and got told somebody would be with me soon. 2.5 hours passed, still I had not been seen despite me flagging several nurses asking when the triage nurse would see me. After 3 hours of waiting the attack subsided but yet still no triage. As the attack subsided I decided it was time to leave and not take any of the doctors time unnecessarily. 3 hour waiting time and not even seen a triage nurse? The lady's at reception was quoting a 7 hour wait time .I am no doctor but I am sure that the four a waiting time target was certainly not adhered to

Suggested improvements
Triage could of been better Perhaps 2 triage nurses as opposed to one? Perhaps a gp in a and e so those who need to be seen by a general practitioner can be seen appropriately rather than a ED doctor.
