Very good experience
The breast care unit at Queens Hospital is a beacon of excellence in health care. The staff go above and beyond. The only down side was a Consultant Radiologist from Derby was outwardly stressed and flustered and made me feel I was a burden as I had felt faint so was promptly put onto a bed and cared for by the nursing team but this was just before I was due to have the ultrasound scan and this consultant made his irritation very clear, which I felt was very inappropriate and unprofessional.
I WAS IN QUEENS FOR 5 DAYS, AND IT FELT LIKE I WAS IN A HOTEL. ALL THE STAFF WERE SO PLEASANT, CARING AND HELPFUL.THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD, WARDS NICE AND CLEAN, FAIRLY QUIET WITH TV IF WANTED.I WAS VERY WELL LOOKED AFTER AND DID NOT WANT TO GO HOME !!!
I COULD NOT BELIEVE I WAS ACTUALLY IN HOSPITAL FOR AN OPERATION, FROM START TO FINISH IT WAS A SWIFT AND WELL ORGANISED EVENT.BE VERY PROUD QUEENS HOSPITAL, YOU ARE ALL A MAGICAL TEAM, THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE FOR ME.

I have only just been introduced to the Oncology Department
So far all the staff I have met here are all very caring and supportive
I will be spending sometime with this department in the coming months
I have been treated for Breast cancer at Queens hospital and from initial diagnosis following a mammogram and chemotherapy treatment prescribed by Dr Szita and then breast and lymph node surgery led by Mrs Carmichael I cannot fault the care that I have received. At all times the staff in all areas have been kind and compassionate and have made this difficult journey bearable
I came in to have an operation in May. Angela Carmichael and her team were absolutely fantastic, so caring, reassuring and professional!! I literally can not thank them enough xx
Queens hospital were efficient under pressure as all NHS hospitals are. Admin staff, doctors and nurses were all exemplary.
Great treatment from beginning to end.
Historically my family and myself have always had first rate service from this hospital. The staff are helpful, polite friendly and attentive, procedures have been carried out efficiently usually with a minimum waiting time.
Waiting time to receive initial appointments for consultations has been around 4 weeks. The hospital generally appears clean throughout with a Costa cafeteria, shop and vending machines, the hospital forecourt, outside the main entrance, also hosts a fresh fruit, vegetable and flowers stand.
Following a diagnosis of breast cancer the care and attention I have received from Burton Breast Care Unit has been first class. The breast care nurses have a wealth of knowledge put you at ease and nothing is to much trouble.
We are very lucky to have this service provided to us by the NHS. Thank you
