I spent over 24 hours on L45 on 23 and 24 January 2017 giving birth to my baby girl. It was a long and very tough labour following induction. We were fortunate to be cared for by midwives Lynette (night shifts on 23 and 24 January) and Sadie (day shift on 24 January) who were both absolutely fantastic. Very professional, caring, compassionate and reassuring throughout. My husband and I went through some of the toughest hours of our lives on the ward and the expertise and care of the staff helped us both enormously. We saw various other midwives throughout our time there as well, all of whom were equally professional and sympathetic. I was also cared for by consultant anesthetist Lucy (I’ve forgotten her last name I’m afraid!), who administered an epidural after 16 hours of very painful contractions, and obstetric registrar, Dominic Blake, who eventually delivered the baby. They were both excellent and explained everything very clearly and made us feel safe and reassured throughout.
