Review of Beechwood

I recently spent 2 weeks in Beechwood following 8 weeks in hospital (5 in intensive care) and my body being very deconditioned. I had a great experience there, the day I was admitted every member of staff came to my room and introduced themselves, my care needs were discussed and agreed. I was seen by the physiotherapist Vimula within 24 hours and a plan agreed she was amazing and the day I was admitted I could not stand independently by week 2 I was walking unaided. I was also seen in the first 24 hours by OT, pharmacist, Doctor, speech and language. I felt very comfortable, safe and cared for, there was a good amount of staff on duty and my needs were always met in a timely manner. Staff members Diane, Vicky, Carmella and Carla especially went out of there way to help and support me during my stay but the whole team were great and Beechwood is an amazing service.

Review of MSK Physiotherapy & ESP Team (Isebrook)

As all of my Physiotherapy care was done over the phone due to Covid restrictions, had I not been self-motivated with exercise perhaps my recovery would have been slower.
My therapist was an excellent communicator and always encouraging in her communications.
It was good to know I could arrange to speak to her at any time
Suggested improvements
The only improvement would have been to be able to meet in person for exercise programme.
Unavoidable due to Covid restrictions.

My telephone appointment was with Michael. He regally asks if I understood what he was saying, he gave clear instructions on how to do the exercises and booked my next appointment.
It may seem strange but to have my next appointment sorted is a big thing because at the moment it takes so long to book an appointment.
Suggested improvements
The only things that could have been better are a face to face appointment and not having to wait so long to get the appointment.
Both of these are out of the hands of Michael.
