I am currently under the weight management team and have completed a 12 week course in 2014 and I am having one to one appointments with the dietican. The waiting times to see the dietican are around 6 months, so you wait 6 months for your inital appointment and when you re-book it's a further 6 months. This is very fustrating for the patient and the team as it stops the weight managment team giving the advice, help and support that would like. Due to my physical condition I am unable to exercise and the dietican would have liked to have put me on a diet plan but she would of needed to see me weekly. This is not possiable as there is only 2 dieticans (one working 4 days a week & the other working 1 day a week)in the weight management team for the whole of Northamptonshire, hence the 6 month wait. This is very hard as you try to do your best, get referred to the team for help and it feels like your knocked back down due to internal politics/funds. How are you supposed to progress with weight loss/management when there is no multi-disiplinery team and the eqivilant of one dietican for Northamptonshire.
