The care is acceptable if you can actually get an appointment. I work full time and wanted to discuss ongoing symptoms of migraine and review medication which I thought was making migraines worse, I was asked to go to the surgery at 7.30 to wait in line for the available appointments for that day, this made me late for work - I am a teacher - I then was given a phone appointment, I cannot use my phone in the classroom, and only have an intermittent signal in any case... I cannot take phone appointments unless I take a day off work. I have rung again this morning and been informed my gp is away for two weeks and I cannot pre book an appointment, I can only go in four days time to queue again at 7.30 for daily appointment. I was not able to get an appointment for my medication which then ran out, I have been offered an appointment in three weeks and given emergency medication. These systems actually cause the centre to have to make more work and more appointments and block phone lines. I will now have to use the one 10 minute appointment with the nurse to discuss medication but will also be discussing blood tests and other matters taking up more of her time as I could not book another appointment. This system is ridiculous. With hundreds of new homes being built and thousands of new residents moving to the area this needs to be reviewed urgently.
