We were advised by East Surrey hospital that my mother would get daily visits from 1 or 2 therapists every working day. She had very few visits for the first 2 weeks because it seemed most of the therapists were on leave over Easter. Due to her dementia my mother had difficulty engaging with the therapists as she had difficulty following instructions and that sense of being put on the spot, raised her anxiety levels and reduced her ability to comprehend what was being said / expected.

Suggested improvements
A little more accommodation for people with dementia. I understand it is difficult, but sometimes in hospital and with the community therapy, it seemed that my mother got less support because of her dementia whereas I would suggest she needed more? 6 weeks is a very short period when you only receive 2 or 3 visits most weeks. A review and follow up visit 4 weeks later to see progress and suggest ongoing exercises for family or carers to encourage would be helpful.
