complete lack of coordination and communication between departments. consultant intimating follow up in a week, outpatients bookings offer earliest in one month. secretaries permanently on leave, doctors permanently away, locum secretaries clueless, admin staff very pleasant but of little use. very little effective communication between consultants, imaging departments and the call centre. wrong tests booked, wrong imaging ordered, notes missed. patients left to chivvy around and between departments. if you have something sinister wrong with you, you are much better off with the NHS. Not of much use even for less sinister problems - between two different specialists (i.e. gastro and rheumatology) and their secretaries, you are looking at february to june time span for a consultation, tests, follow ups, treatment, follow up between the two. Without much progress or results.
