I knew what to expect, and all was as I had expected it would be.

Maybe, as the wearing of face masks was required and a supply of new masks was available, absolute compliance with this requirement should be/have been a prerequisite to entry into the premises. All too many people in the waiting areas appeared to think that the requirement to wear a mask covering nose and mouth did not apply to them.
