I have only had a blood sample taken and made an appointment to see my consultant so far. The blood samples were taken efficiently and to a satisfactory standard. However the process of making an appointment and arranging for the blood test appeared to be disorganised, inefficient and quite stressful. It required a number of emails and phone calls. My experience compared poorly with the same process in other private health providers. It appears that there is a training requirement for individuals in the contact team - making this appointment was not a good introduction to the clinic.

Suggested improvements
It should be easy to make a timely out- patient appointment and arrange for a pre-appointment blood- test. Staff on a contact team should be efficient and responsive and facilitate the process. Only one (Eric) was very helpful and knowledgeable: although not the named contact he eventually completed the registration process, arranged my appointment and told me how to access the phlebotomy service. I am grateful to him for stepping in.

As I have stated above; Eric on the contact team helped me to to arrange an appointment and to have blood samples taken so that the results should to be available at my consultation. Some of the results have already been reported. My experience of the clinical services to date have been satisfactory and as I would expect. My experience of the preliminary administration process was poor and not a good introduction to the Cleveland Clinic: I suggest that there are training needs.
