Parking is a massive issue at the BRI, I have a young baby and carrying her from the top car park to ward 19 is a long way. Will remember to bring her pram next time. The examination room was clean unfortunatly the trolley with used instruments is left out by the waiting area, which is not ideal. Waiting area could be made better.
Attended A&E. After all the adverse national publicity, the whole experience was impressive. Everyone seemed interested and motivated to provide a very good quality service. As a family we have always had the highest regard for the hospital and its staff.
BUT:
The Cooperative (out patients) pharmacy needs improving. There were loads of people waiting for ages to get their medication. By the time they did, most will have missed a dose! The assistant seemed disinterested. Just because you have a captive customer base doesn't mean you are entitled to treat them shabbily.
Mr Andrew Williams plastic sergen he is a credit to BRI Hospital and is staff on that day today at 9.30 5 dec 2014 thank you good hospital 5 star
Excellent care by all staff.
Food - lots of choice for all tastes, pleased with healthy options available.
Appreciated being able to go home when ready, not made to feel that your time is up.
Not easy to park. Well sign posted inside. Reception staff pleasant
One issue I had is lack of parking, other than that the visit was pleasant enough under the circumstances.
Thank you to all at BRI ward 18 & 19 for taking such good care of me while recovering from my 11 hour operation in July of this year. Sadly I understand Ward 19 has now closed, how sad they were such a great team and all worked together so well. I can only hope they all find happiness in their new positions within the Hospital, and wish them well.
Many Thanks
Claire Scott
Certainly the care when you are poorly is extremely good but once you are recovering they are so short staffed they haven't time to care but prioritise the ill.
First class throughout, only reason for 3* on first is impossibility of parking at BRI. I have to ask my daughter to get a day off work to take me which I don't like to do. First time I went I took my car and simply could not park which adds lots of stress to an already stressful day - made late in getting to appointment on time despite allowing half an hour extra, is car safe where I had to leave it, etc.
Apart from that could not fault the hospital.
Unfotuanately I have been a regular patient over the last six years. A&E, ward 7, wards 27,28 &19 but I have received first class and sympathetic care wherever I have found myself. Not just Consultants, Doctors and Nursing staff but also everybody concerned wit my care. Only criticism I have is there is not enough nusing staff on the frontline! Three staff (one 8mths pregnant) on a ward of 28 beds???
