The option to be called back when there is a large queue doesn’t always seem to be offered. Maybe it has to be over a certain number? When it is offered it saves a lot of time, when not the wait is frustrating and time consuming.
Am happy
I am writing to provide feedback on my recent consultation with Dr. on 01.05.24 at 13:45 I visited the surgery due to a severe cough that has persisted for the past 3-4 months. I informed Dr that I had already tried various remedies with no improvement.
During the consultation, Dr examined my chest and advised it sounded clear. While I appreciate this initial assessment, I was disappointed that no further investigation was offered within the appointment. Given the duration of the cough and the ineffectiveness of previous treatments, I felt a more comprehensive approach might have been beneficial.
Specifically, I would have liked to discuss:
• Possible causes for the persistent cough beyond a chest examination.
• Alternative diagnostic options besides an X-ray, or if an X-ray was deemed necessary, referral for one within the appointment rather than a walk-in service.
I understand that doctors have limited time per appointment, but I believe a more in-depth discussion could have helped identify the cause of my cough and determine the appropriate course of action
Phone at the time at went straight to number 25 in the queue and had to wait a good 30 minutes before I got an appointment
I was seen on time by a very pleasant lady who took my blood pressure and we agreed that as I had no problems I would continue with the current medication.
