It's incredibly difficult to get appointments. Recently I phoned the surgery mid morning on a Wednesday (not peak time) and was on-hold for 20 mins before the line was cut. I tried twice again that day and couldn't get through at all.
I needed an appointment for a HRT repeat prescription and when I eventually got through I have to wait over 3 weeks for the simple health check.
Suggested improvements
Recently I needed a GP letter for my daughter. It was put into the system as urgent - 2 weeks later and approx 7 phone calls later and I eventually got the letter but the process was incredibly frustrating - each time I phoned the surgery to find out what the status was I had to reexplain why I was requesting the letter and why it needed to be processed urgently. Honestly 2 weeks & 7 phone calls for a letter containing one paragraph of text is crazy.
