Trying to get an appointment to see a doctor face to face is virtually impossible. Fortunately the doctor needed to see me so my appointment went very well. He was very helpful and helped me to understand my condition and how we could go about sorting it out. Six months of excruciating pain and it now looks like we have a couple of directions to go to get me better.

Have a face to face with a doctor earlier instead of trying to diagnose something you haven’t seen

Doctor lovely. Getting an appointment was a joke. Only got one as I was asked to call 111. Then suddenly one was free. Doc said my prescription would be there in an hour but after calling at the chemist 3 hours later it hadn’t even been signed. Then it was too late for that day as the chemist closed at 6pm. Could be avoided as it meant that was my 3rd call to the surgery

I had a phone call offering me an appointment for a blood test the same morning as the surgery had had a cancellation. The test was conducted excellently and ahead of the scheduled time.

It’s very difficult nowadays to get appointments with a doctor even though they ask you to call at eight in the morning the lines are normally busy. What I do like is the call back system they’ve unfortunately by the time you receive a call back the appointments have gone or you have to see if they have any availability the following week!

I can’t fault anything when I actually do get a doctors appointment. It’s the availability not getting one on the day or having to wait until there is an available appointment!
