The nurse was very rough. She made me bleed quite a lot after my smear test, also because of this has pushed the strings to my copper coil up into my cervix. So now there’s a possibility I will have to have this removed at the hospital if on my next visit my strings are still not there they were there before she done the smear as she told me she could see them and I new they were there as I’d felt them myself. I rang the doctors to explain I was still bleeding and had pain to which they said I would have to ring 111 for medical advice they could not help. This was at 4.20pm the person I spoke to from 111 said that they should have seen me back at the surgery! I then rang the surgery back at 5pm to be told no more appointments and no excess appointments available and to call back at 8am or if symptoms get worse to go to a&e! Not happy with the service I recieved yesterday at all! The nurse needs to be more gentle when doing smear tests and the first receptionist needs to be more helpful as they had a duty of care for me yesterday and then when I ring back there was no more appointments at all!

Be more gentle when dealing with internal appointments and the receptionist to be trained to know what should be seen as important and what is not.

My criticism is that my appointment was at 3.15, by 3.45 I had been given antibiotics from the gp which he apparently sent to the pharmacy. At 6pm when I went to the pharmacy they didn’t have my prescription, so I had to go the evening without the antibiotics, when I called reception today I was told the tablets received at the pharmacy at 7.55pm. I think that’s disgusting. It’s a good thing I wasn’t in agony as I had no way of getting the medication I needed. Very disappointment on timing. I don’t know if this long time is normal practice or if the gp hadn’t clicked the button needed. But for some people, the length of time can make a huge difference.
