Dr Sanderson was very good.
I had a diabetic blood test on Dec 22 and as I was in the surgery for an eye screening the person doing the screening suggested I ask at the desk for my result. The receptionist looked it up and said it was normal. No further action needed. However I went back to the Dr yesterday and she said that was not the case everything was normal except the blood sugar which was 48 so too high.
So in order for other patients not to receive the wrong information maybe only Drs should give out the result.
A short, curt statement on the Greystone Surgery website informing us that D r J o e M c G i l I i g a n has left doesn’t go anywhere near saying about Joe the person. Joe was a lovely colleague to work with who, in my opinion, never lost sight of why he became a GP in the first place - to care for his patients. So I’m hoping that Joe’s patients and colleagues, ex-colleagues and many friends will read this and add their good wishes and give him the send off he so deserves. Please keep comments polite although, knowing Joe, it would bring a wry smile to his face if there wasn’t at least one that mentioned him overrunning on his appointments and the weight of his in-tray! For my part, I would like to place on record what a smashing colleague he was who had such a calm presence and who showed nothing but kindness in his words and actions. The loss to Greystone Surgery and the profession - I haven’t even touched on the phenomenal ambassadorial ‘behind the scenes’ roles he held and the tireless work he did in raising the profile of patient care by writing papers etc - is beyond immeasurable and he will go down in folklore as the Doctor who cared and really did make a difference. All the best, Joe - you will never be forgotten by your patients, colleagues and friends.
An excellent surgery.Staff from the receptionists, nurses and doctors are all a pleasure to meet.Nothing seems too much, and the help is beyond reproach...The NHS should be proud of this surgery,I know I am ..
I telephoned the doctors to get an appointment but I able to get an appointment and they triage me to have a telephone consultation then I had text To say my triage appointment was three days later
