Dorking Medical Practice at New House Surgery

Receptionist and practice manager are always efficient. However because I have a popular GP, it is not always easy to get a quick appointment. The practice is run well and I am a member of the group who help to monitor the practice performance.
This is a wonderful practice. Thank you.
Please do not close the surgery just because there is no Doctor available - it should still be possible to collect prescriptions!
From the minute you contact the receptionists to the time you see the Doctor or nurse, this surgery is totally professional but also really approachable The online prescription/appointment service is efficient and I have usually been able to get an appointment In some cases, after an operation, I have even been given an appointment or phone call immediately and never made to feel a nuisance
After nearly 30 years with diabetes, injecting insulin 4 times a day, and having been treated by this surgery at clinics for 24 years, I have now found I have had difficulty in arranging clinic appointments, approximately every six months. I have been trying since January to arrange my usual appointment, as prescribed by the Diabetic Nurse at the previous visit, and have only now been able to make it for at the end of March. I have been told, I could only now get an appointment at the Dorking Surgery, not at Hillside as usual. I do not understand why this is, as for reasons I will not go into, family commitments and no private transport, I find this extremely difficult. I feel if appointments are continuously made at Dorking, other facilities on the hill will gradually be eroded away, the thin edge of the wedge for older and sicker people than I, practically impossible for an elderly relative of mine at 92. I hardly ever trouble a doctor, as after all these years, I pride myself, that I look after myself, so in return, I expect easy access to the clinics to keep a check on my health. I have always praised this surgery, but for the first time in 24 years, I am finding it very hard to keep my temper. I have also, in the last twelve months, had persistent letters from Dorking, pressing me to make appointments with them, that are not due for both diabetes and the Asthma Clinic, in fact they have been made for me without my consent, and had to cancel them. Unless there is a particular problem, after a lifetime with these conditions, I do know when I am due for a visit, and don't need to be reminded. I must add that up until now, I have always thought myself lucky to have good service from doctors, nurses and receptionists, and am suspicious that in recent years, managers seem to be interfering in the smooth running of the practice, but that's just a personal feeling.
