My sister and I went to have a shingles vaccination as we are both over 65 and according to the ads we should be getting this vaccination. However, the nurse who called us in informed us that we could NOT have this vaccination as we were not 70. Still not sure why we could not have this as it may save us much suffering later.
Since we were not allowed to have this, one is left wondering why we were allowed to book the appointment in the first place, surely reception would know. It wasted our time, a nurses time, some other patients could have used those appointments and we still don't really know when we can have them.
The only good thing was we were offered pneumonia vaccination which I did have but my sister had already had this some time ago.
As always, an excellent service. Very happy with this practice since becoming registered with the surgery since 2006.
The appointment took a little bit longer to get than I would have liked, but taking into account the pressures on the NHS and GP surgeries, it was not too bad. I was not in pain or general discomfort so the wait was acceptable and the treatment was first class.
Surgery over worked
Phone line is very busy in the morning rush
