I completed a consult and was given a face to face appointment with a nurse. The nurse was unable to help and was surprised I was seeing her rather than the dr as she was unable to provide menopause/HRT advice. She gave me a link to complete another consult which was unavailable until Monday morning. It was a waste of my time and hers.

It would have been helpful if she could have then booked me an appointment with a doctor as soon as she realised she was unable to help me.

It’s hard trying to get an appointment most times because I have to phone at 8am on the dot. If I don’t then I’m in a long queue and by the time I’m answered the appointments are gone for that day and I have to phone the next day. It’s the same when I need a specific gp. And with having mental health issues I like to see my own gp which isn’t always possible. There have been times that I have called 111 just to get an emergency appointment with my own practice for that same day which is a long process to do.

Something needs to be done better but I’m not sure what

Not easy getting an appointment but my appointment yesterday was very good

I was early, never been before and the nurse, just came out, and shouted Barbara, I went to answer if it was for me, as another old lady just got up, and the nurse said to her, as if she knew her, how are you today, I assume she was a Barbara as well, even though it was my appointment time. When the nurse finally realised she had the wrong person she again shouted Barbara only , I was at this time the only person in the waiting room. I told her I was waiting for my surname to be called, as never been in a doctors surgery, and called just by my first name. Also once in the room everything was very rushed, and the nurse did not realise that I was diabetic until I told her, I was just booked for Bloods and my BP to be taken, not a diabetic check, that should have been done in March . At this point she decided to look at my feet, and why had I not taken a urine sample with me. Had I been told it was a diabetic review, I would have taken one with me. Mrs Barbara Revell

Refer to people by their full name Look at notes before seeing patients Not being so fast, a usual diabetic check is a lot longer than I experienced yesterday. I have never see a doctor here yet, so can’t pass comment on BBC any of them

This was my annual review and the process of booking was easy. The reminders were helpful although I did not need them and the review was clearly explained and straightforward.
