The receptionist was awful, uncaring and disinterested. She should not be in a position of dealing with people in pain and distress. The clinician was lovely helpful and considerate but didn’t have correct information about referrals onwards which caused me huge distress in sorting out.
I gave this result as I was told the day before by the Diabetic Nurse that if I turned up at the doors the following day Dr Hird would see me before his official Surgery. As it happened when I showed up at 8.00 a.m. as told I was then given an appt for 9.30 a.m. Dr. Hird was not aware what went on although he was expecting me the time he had down was 9.30 a.m. aa it stands Dr Hird is a truly gifted G.P. and there was no point in spoiling matters.
We discussed the reasons for increasing my Statins in a simple and easy to understand way and increased my prescriotion whilst I was there as well as other items I might require and I left his surgery better understanding my cirmanstances.
Receptionist was not applicable.
Appointments are easier to get via online using the econsult system.
Overall good experience and the doctor was very attentive and provided me with a solid plan/path forward.
I find the appointment system quite unsatisfactory. I would like to make an appointment with the doctor two weeks ahead and it’s impossible to do that at the moment. I don’t want to be on the phone for half hour trying to get an appointment or be down at the surgery at 8am in the morning. I’m putting off seeing the doctor because of the system and at my age that’s not a good thing.
