It's far too much of a lottery. I can right in onvthe dot of 8am, be told my position in the queue, and by the time I speak to a receptionist there are no available appointments. My request might be urgent, or critical, it might not, but there seems to be no way of triaging this by the receptionist.

Suggested improvements
At some stage in an annual check-up I would have thought it appropriate for a practice nurse to ask a patient a question such as "Is there anything you are concerned about with your health?" or "Has anything changed healthwise in the last year?" Ie Proactive questions, that show interest in trying to provide a pre-emptive service to the patient. Didn't happen to me, my process was simply In, bloods, pressure, alcohol, Go.

This can be accessed via our website (https://www.billingshurstsurgery.co.uk/appointment-system.php) or if you have the NHS app, you can access econsult via the "ask my GP for advice" section in the NHS app, this service is available between 7am and 10am. Receptionist very rude. Patients come to surgery when unwell and in pain. They need understanding, compassion and respect. Rude, uncaring people should not be in that job. Doctor also, very rushed, not much dialog.

Suggested improvements
Hire younger staff who still have patience to deliver quality care.
