Initial access to local healthcare professionals by telephone is restrictive, perhaps understandably so. But it is also a type of deterrent. I would advocate the promotion of access via email or messaging. This would create space for patients to express healthcare or wellbeing concerns that could be considered trivial by anyone other than a trained technician.

Are you aware that we now off an econsult service, this allows you to express healthcare or wellbeing concerns, the form is the processed by our ehub team, they will either book an appointment with an appropriate clinician, give advice, or signpost you to an appropriate service. You can access the form via our website (https://www.billingshurstsurgery.co.uk/appointment-system.php) or if you have the NHS app it can be accessed via the "ask my GP for advice" section in the NHS app. I hope you find this helpful.
