My GP had referred me to a local hospital for X-rays and told me to book a doctors appointment to discuss the results. When I booked the follow-up appointment I was only offered an appointment with a “nurse practitioner” (I was not given an option to see a doctor). The diagnosis was vague and the advice was mostly read from the NHS web page. Although the staff member was trying to be helpful, the tone was patronising. Although the doctors at the surgery are good, it is very difficult to get an appointment, and the alternatives that are offered are not always appropriate.

Booking appointments are seamless and the receptionist so polite and friendly. Waiting room is light, clean and comfortable. Docs and nurses are outstanding and I always feel valued with great consideration to my wellbeing.

Wonderful bedside manner. Listened patiently to me with no hint of rushing. I would recommend this practice .

My appointment was with Advance Nurse Practitioner Laurie Jackman to receive blood test results and follow up on general health. She was attentive, understanding and empathic. She understood exactly what I was saying and said she would reflect that when writing/updating my medical notes. It was one of those rare moments in life where (when having to access the health service and all the anxieties and worries that can bring) the connection on a human level was what impacted me most about this exceptional nurse. For want of a better old fashioned adage: Her bedside manner was impeccable. Thank you Nurse Jackman.
