Get rid of DoctorLink! It is useless. You don’t have appointments for an urgent problem - despite DoctorLink stating I need to see someone. So unhelpful. Don’t use a system where you can’t fulfil the requirements stated.

Oh dear - I am sorry to hear that this is your view but thank you for your feedback it is very helpful. Doctorlink has been extremely successful in helping us to provide our patients with same day appointments due to our on the day minor illness nurses, advanced nurse practitioners, paramedic and pharmacists and other health care professionals who work together to provide timely access to the right clinician to suit your health needs. We are also piloting the use of Doctorlink to help us to provide appointments for patients who may need early access to a Physiotherapist. Our GPs and the clinical colleagues who work alongside them in Practice use the Summary of Assessed needs (which lists your symptoms) to prepare for your consultation so that we can make the most of your appointment time and in addition the summary is recorded on your clinical record, so we can see when your symptoms are progressing and what action you may have already taken prior to the appointment (i.e sought assistance from a Pharmacist for example). We work very closely with Doctorlink, who provide the symptom check website and we would certainly like to speak to you about your experience so that we can use it for learning to make the site more user friendly and to review the problems you had in obtaining an appointment. I would be grateful if you could contact me at emmybutcher@nhs.net should you wish to look into this further. In the meantime, thank you once again for your feedback and I hope to hear from you soon. Kindest regards, Emmy Butcher - Managing Partner

I have seen the nurse twice now for different ailments and have twice not been diagnosed or prescribed medication- despite telling them what was wrong and what I believed the illness to be. In the end, on both occasions I have sought advise elsewhere and received the medication I needed to treat my problems. I would never see the nurse for medical problems except that I have been unable to get appointments with a GP for more then 3 weeks and a nurse was the only thing offered. I was also disappointed that the GP I did speak to over the phone completely disregarded my concerns, and I later found out that I was correct after seeing my optician. I would not recommend this surgery from these last appointments. Until recently I would have said this was a great surgery.

Hello there, I am very sorry to hear that this has been your experience and that we have not met your expectations. I would certainly like the opportunity to investigate this for you. All our health care professionals work alongside our GPs and will be able to provide you with their clinical advice and guidance based on their own assessment of your symptoms. This may not always be the outcome you were expecting or hoping for but you are entitled to ask for a second opinion should you feel that this is appropriate. I am sorry also to hear that you feel you were not able to get an appointment with your GP for three weeks. You may find it helpful to use your Systm Online account to review a live version of our available clinics. You can also use the messaging service in your Systm Online to message any of our team, including your own GP, if you feel that you need advice and guidance or that you need to be seen earlier than our next available routine appointment. If you would like to speak to me about this further I would very much welcome the opportunity and I can be contacted at emmybutcher@nhs.net. I hope to hear from you soon and in the meantime thank you again for your feedback. Kindest regards, Emmy Butcher - Managing Partner

Do feel the receptionists on the phone have poor communication skills and need to show more understanding.

Hello there, I am sorry to hear this and I apologise that you feel that my Reception colleagues have not been understanding when you have telephoned in. Our team are really grateful for feedback from our patients as it helps to identify areas where we can improve. Every staff member has their own personal development plan, which includes the opportunity to reflect and learn from patient and colleague feedback . I would very much like to speak to you about the experience you have had so that we can explore where we can improve and enhance the quality of care we provide. If you would be so kind as to e-mail me your details via emmybutcher@nhs.net I hope we will be able to learn from your feedback and thank you once again for your comments. Kindest regards - Emmy Butcher, Managing Partner

Amazing care here as always. I know people often say they can never get appointments etc, however we have always been able to see someone when it really matters. Today is no exception. Our 12 year old boy suffers from Asthma and was very wheezy today. My husband got an appointment for our son with a very lovely nurse and they were seen by Doctor Church shortly afterwards. I feel extremely lucky to have such a fabulous surgery on the doorstep.
