I have sat in front of my screen for a while now, wondering what I'd like to say in this review. Recent times have been a challenge; cancer, sepsis, having a stoma put in then taken out. I've met a fair few surgeons during my time! Now, I am no George Clooney at the best of times, but I'd developed a number of hernias through various incisions; I had humps and bumps of all shapes and sizes. They had started to become a challenge physically, and admittedly at times mentally too, so they had to go. I met 'Toby' Hammond at Broomfield Hospital, and in July this year, he rebuilt my abdomen. 'Rebuilt my abdomen' is quite easy to say quickly isn't it! He didn't however just rebuild my abdomen, he did it with huge skill, great care, and unrivalled compassion. In short, he squared my circle, and he has given me my life back. I have nothing but the greatest of praise for Mr Hammond. Sometimes in life we are lucky to find ourselves in the company of someone very special. That person is Mr Hammond.
