Brilliant. I had a deviated nasal septum and was skeptical about how the operation would turn out; I'd heard from others that the results of my particular operation didn't always make much difference. I've waited until now (about 18 months after my op) to leave a review, as I wanted to wait until I was fully-healed. Mr Khemani said that I would probably benefit a great deal from the surgery, and he was right. My nose looked normal again within a couple of weeks of the op, and I noticed an improvement in my breathing ability within the same time period. Since then, things have improved and improved; I basically have super-smell and breathing now (at least, that's how I feel!) and regularly smell things others can't. I had a slight numbness in my top lip for a while (maybe even over a year), but it lessened significantly over time, and I only noticed it if I thought about it. It's completely fine, now. Mr Khemani himself was incredibly pleasant, and very competent and reassuring. I can't fault his manner or approach, and I genuinely trusted my life to him - I hate general anaesthetic... He went through everything very thoroughly, and I never felt patronised, which I have felt in the past by some consultants. I have a medical background, so like to be talked to clearly and honestly; Mr Khemani was very concise in his explanations and answers to my questions. I know this will sound odd, but he also has neat, gentle hands - a very important quality in a surgeon! It wasn't nice being roughly-treated by an ENT specialist with rough little hands as if my nose was a car-exhaust, while being told not to use "scientific language". That was another reason why I entrusted my procedure to Mr Khemani instead of using the NHS (to which I owe a great deal, and am not belittling in the slightest; it just wasn't the right fit this time). I'm glad I did. I'd just like to say thank you very much. You do a wonderful job, and have improved my quality of life. I hope to not see you again soon!
