Richard Wain is a consultant plastic surgeon with an interest in reconstructive surgery for oncological and traumatic defects. He qualified from the University of Manchester in 2006 and has completed his surgical training across the North West, Mersey and Yorkshire regions of the UK. He has completed a sub-specialist fellowships in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and skin cancer reconstruction at St. Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust; and Sarcoma Reconstruction and Lower Limb Microsurgery based at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals. He has been on the Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery since August 2021. He has a long-standing interest in clinical academia and research, with over 35 peer-reviewed publications. Richard has completed a Research Fellowship at the Institute of Translational Medicine, University of Birmingham, and is a member of the Computational Mechanics Research Group at the University of Central Lancashire, where he completed his PhD.
