Firstly I must apologise to Mr Phadniss, my review is very late after such fantastic work on fixing my self inflicted injury. Back in Jul 2020, I had a trip at work and completely shattered my left elbow, it wasn't a big fall or fall from height but one of those stupid trip over and inch high doorstep. This happened on 21st July 2020 and after going to William Harvey hospital and getting checked out thinking I had just perhaps dislocated it, they booked me in for surgery on the Fri 24th, but due to the severity of the break they informed me on Thur 23rd forwarded me to someone more specialized, that being Mr Phadnis and I am grateful for it. Travelled down to Brighton to the Royal Sussex County Hospital early Mon 27th morning with the help of friends as I was due book in for 8am. Around 9am, I was taken to consolation area and meet and spoke with Mr Phadnis. Whom explained what was going to happen and possible side effects/dangers. Very clam and educate and made you feel comfortable with the whole procedure. They removed the cast they had put on keep my elbow together while awaiting the few days before surgery and by 9:30 I was on the table. I came too after surgery and when eventually my eyes focused on the clock it was 17:30. It had took 4 hours of surgery to fix one 5 sec mistake. All of the staff at the hospital were fantastic as I got took to the ward to recover overnight and aftercare. Tuesday was spent recovering with a few visits from doctors and nurses with tablets and given exercises to try to get movement back into the elbow. I was discharged on Tuesday evening and given an appointment to been seen again in about 2 weeks. Living on my own, those 2 weeks were fairly challenging when attempting basic things. removing the lid off the fresh jar of peanut butter, I remember having to hold it in the doorframe and holding the door on it with my backside and managing to pop the top off with my good right arm. Looking back it was amusing. 2 1/2 weeks later, remade the journey down to Brighton for the check up with Mr Phadnis. I tried to stop using the sling so much to help start moving the elbow as previously suggested. Mr Phadnis checked over my progress and suggested a few other exercise for my elbow. I had a few follow up appointments to check on my progress, I believe one was 4-5 weeks after surgery and then I believe my final appointment was 17th Dec. Even now in 2021 I still receive an email to a form to fill in to update my progress and feel if I had any problems in the future I would not hesitate to contact him. I have lost some movement in my elbow due to my mistake but I'm sure its 1000% better than it could have been. Every appointment Mr Phadnis was attentive and explained things and was supportive. Even though he in a different NHS region, as I live in Kent and Brighton is a different area. I am pleased I was forwarded onto him. Everything from the pre-op to aftercare was brilliant and felt at ease. And I'll always have the bits of metal in my arm to remember him. I am very glad he was my surgeon and would recommend him without hesitation.

Couldn’t be happier with my shoulder op. From not being able to wash my hair or pull up my trousers to riding my bike again and swimming most days. The difference is incredible.

Mr Phadnis treated me for a rotator cuff tear which required keyhole surgery. I was impressed throughout my treatment by his level of expertise and his caring manner and would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone with a shoulder injury.

Mr Phadnis did my elbow replacement in November 2020, a very extensive operation, the likes of he had never seen before, my previous elbow replacement had totally worn away. I can honestly say that I am so grateful to Mr Phadnis and his team for a brilliant outcome, the after care I have received has been second to none. Many thanks to all.

Mr.Phadnis has done a wonderful job on an elbow replacement for our son, Michael. Michael had had three operations (Tunbridge Wells and Brighton) when he was referred to Mr. Phadnis. When Mr. Phadnis decided Michael needed an elbow replacement he transferred him to Haywards Heath and arranged it so that we could be with him over the Christmas period (Michael lives on his own). Newick House ,Haywards Heath was like a 5 star hotel and the staff were wonderful. His care and treatment was exceptional. Michael lives on his own in Tunbridge Wells but had to stay with us in Torquay, when he was discharged from hospital, until he could use his arm. When he was ready to return home, "LOCKDOWN" occurred. This meant he had to stay in Torquay with us. Two appointments were made for Michael to see Mr. Phadnis but they had to be re-arranged because of Covid. Mr. Phadnis was in communication with us several times during this period. He showed genuine concern for both Michael and us. Michael returned home on the 17th May, when "LOCKDOWN" was eased and Mr. Phadnis saw him on July 1st. Additionally Michael has mental issues (paranoid schizophrenia).Mr. Phadnis has had a profound effect on Michael. Clearly he has done a wonderful job on his elbow and significantly he has had a positive effect on Michael's mental health and well being. Michael has settled down far better than we anticipated on his return home and we are of the opinion that this is partly due to the confidence he has in Mr. Phadnis. Any accolade we give Mr. Phadnis falls short of the praise he deserves. He is an exceptional human being. He is a very caring person who wants the best for Michael and also for Shirley and me. We consider ourselves fortunate that Mr. Phadnis is Michael's consultant. Norman and Shirley Owen
