Mr Gibbs is an excellent surgeon and I couldn’t have been in safer hands. I had a total hip replacement and although I was initially concerned he talked me through the procedure in as much detail as was required and put my mind at rest. Three weeks post op Mr Gibbs has signed me off, I still have a way to go but and am only just free of the single crutch I had been using, but am now moving on to slightly more strength building exercises. I can only put this down to his and his teams skill and expertise and I would be very happy to recommend Mr Gibbs and the Nuffield hospital for their care and kindness. I’m looking forward to getting my life back on track and can’t thank Mr Gibbs enough.
I had the good fortune to be operated on by Mr. Gibbs in August 2021 at the P R H Haywards Heath . He repaired my self-inflicted broken hip very efficiently as far as I can tell and my recovery has gone forward smoothly .
Mr Gibbs final words after I had my 6 week check-up were 'if you have any problems
you know where I am '. I found this very confidence building as I work to get back to full fitness .
I will be eternally grateful to Mr Gibbs and his team for enabling me to get back to looking after my 90 year old husband after my accident .
From the moment I met Mr Gibbs he instilled confidence. I needed a hip replacement, but he treated me like an individual person, not just a hip! He explained the process and encouraged questions. He made sure I understood the possible risks involved in such surgery, whilst putting them into clear context. On the day of the op he was encouraging both beforehand and afterwards. In my follow up consultation he showed me my post op x-ray, discussed my progress and gave me space to ask questions. Should I ever need the other hip replaced, Mr Gibbs would certainly be my first choice for surgeon.
I would like to say how excellent my stay at The Nuffield Hospital, Haywards Heath was. I had a TKR (Total Knee Replacement) in early August 2021 and
Mr. Gibbs and his entire team of nurses and physio were brilliant. My recovery has been quicker than last time, which I understand could be, due to the assistance of the Robot or K9 in Dr. Who.
My sincere thanks.

When meeting Mr Gibbs for the first time about a problem knee, my first impression was of a very kind, caring, sympathetic and professional surgeon who puts his patients needs first.
Following a full knee replacement just seven weeks ago, I am now well on the way to returning to a ‘normal’ life once again and in particular will be returning to tap dancing after a year.
A huge thank you to Mr Gibbs.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Gibbs - and indeed I already have - he is a fabulous surgeon.
