Very professional from start to finish. Dr Gupte gave me full confidence in what he was doing and also gave me clear instructions to what I am supposed to be doing.

I am speaking as a NHS patient. I have no doubt this surgeon is knowledgeable and has expertise in his area of medicine. However my experience of this consultant was not impressive. He did not go into any detail or explain what his diagnosis was, just provided the name. I was left to google what the condition was and that it's also known as 'The Suicide Disease'. My consultation with him was devoid of any empathy and I felt dehumanised. His exact words were "Sorry, I do not have a magic cure for this", before proceeding to quickly discharge me. He did not arrange to have his physio team work with me, even though physio is a known part of the accepted protocol for my condition. He simply washed his hands of a complex case with a few recommendations, which were never implemented or followed up on. It took me almost 2 years to get physiotherapy and the basic care I deserved at another hospital. The words and actions (or lack of) of this consultant will stay with me forever.

I was incredibly impressed with the treatment and advice from Mr. Gupte, whose calm and kind manner and deep knowledge ensured my speedy recovery from a skiing knee injury.

My then 15-year-old daughter needed ACL reconstruction following a skiing accident in February 2020. Due to Covid she could only have her surgery with Dr Gupte in July that year, when hospitals (partially) reopened. The procedure was more complicated than initially planned given the long time period since the accident – there was some bone damage and the procedure also required meniscal repair. I cannot recommend Dr Gupte highly enough. He is empathetic, calm, reassuring, clear in his explanations and has performed excellent surgery. We went skiing again this February 2022 and her knee worked as perfectly as before. Thank you!
