Following a mammogram and subsequent ultrasound scan I was diagnosed with breast cancer in July. My Consultant was Miss Ball, who along with Nurse Collingridge explained the results in detail and the treatment to follow. The operation took place on the 24th. I arrived at the hospital late morning, was operated on during the afternoon and discharged the same evening. I saw Miss Ball and Nurse Collingridge for a follow up and review on the 8th August and after a CT scan on the 20th will commence radiotherapy treatment. Throughout the ongoing program I have been impressed with the quality of care received and which I continue to receive. From Miss Ball who performed the operation so successfully that it is hardly noticeable and who along with Nurse Collingridge spent time making me feel comfortable and supported, to the professionalism and empathy of all the staff at Ipswich Hospital with whom I have had contact.
