In a year of countless operations Dr John Griffiths acted as my anaesthetist at the wonderful Manor Hospital Oxford. The time and commitment he gave me both prior and post operation was second to none. He showed a genuine and authentic interest in addressing any concerns and fears. His manner was so friendly and cheerful dare I say I almost enjoyed my pre operative process. Dr Griffiths has been my anaesthetist for a number of my surgeries now. He has an impeccable bedside manner and always has the ability to put you at ease before surgery and takes the time to explain what to expect and deal with any questions your or your family may have. He always comes around afterwards to check in with you too. Every time he has been my anaesthetist he manages me well and I find recovery so much easier as he has balanced the sedatives and pain management well during surgery. I never wake up feeling groggy.

Dr Griffiths is not only a very skilled anaesthetist -- my post-op pain control was excellent -- but he took the time pre-op to reassure me about my concerns about the procedure. This combination of expertise and empathy made a great difference and I am sure aided my recovery.

Dr Griffiths is a Consultant of 15 years experience who specialises in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care Medicine. He is also a POETTs accredited Physician and provides specialist pre-operative and Cardiopulmonary Exercise testing consultations for those patients that are undergoing higher risk surgery or are deemed at higher risk due to medical or surgical conditions that they may have.
Dr Griffiths has a philosophy of expert, detailed, compassionate and safe care for those patients that he will help prepare for surgery, anaesthetise or look after in the High Dependency and Intensive Care units in his consultant roles at the John Radcliffe, Churchill and Manor Hospitals.
