Dr Fox is highly professional and logical but he combines this with a calm willingness to listen. He communicates very clearly in a manner which gives the patient confidence, explaining the steps and the options. He clearly has great experience and is at the forefront of his field given the extent of Wythenshawe`s standing as a heart hospital. With me, he was more than prepared to give medication a chance rather than move straight to a procedure. I would also commend the knowledge and expertise of his senior technician who carried out my echocardiogram at the Spire. I had to find Dr Fox myself, and GP`s should me more knowledgeable of high quality people like him and frankly GP`s need to be far more prepared to be proactive so that heart patients ( high risk category) are properly monitored and cared for better. Being discharged to a GP years ago has put me under their care and it is reactive and sadly lacking in many ways. To improve my healthcare I feel that the GP`s need to be far more proactive with heart patients and monitor them professionally rather than take a reactive stance of only being interested when symptoms develop and patients deteriorate. People like me who had heart surgery years ago are seemingly forgotten until they get really ill again. At least Surgeries could carry out ECG``s once or twice a year ( they have a machine) and refer me for an Echocardiagram at least annually. Testing builds up a picture and could just identify things at an earlier stage. I am also concerned that my GP`s don't seem to know the need for putting people like me on the right medication which has now thanks to Dr Fox , improved me and held off the need for an implant ICD. I really hope to be transferred to Dr Fox under the NHS and have him review me at least annually ,as to continue on a private basis may unfortunately become difficult at some stage financially. I would strongly recommend Dr Fox.

Dr. Fox is all one could expect; an experienced and knowledgeable consultant:- Affable, approachable and communicates in a considerate, sensitive and understandable way. Pre op: information well clearly and well defined for both risks and outcomes. Procedure went exactly as described. The op and outcome could not be improved. Excellence continues with post op care and advice.

I found Doctor Fox to be professional, personable and a remarkable doctor who took time to explain in detail the procedure for the operation l required to control my AF going to great lengths to answer any questions or concerns l had about my condition and putting me at ease. I found Doctor Fox and his team to be outstanding throughout the operation and the care l received during my stay in hospital following the operation was excellent . I think it would be hard for me to find any room for improvement l found Doctor Fox to be outstanding along with his team and all the other professional, nursing and auxiliary staff who helped care for me during my stay. Please pass my thanks and good wishes onto Dr Fox and his team. Regards Ron Redston.

Dr Fox was very clear in his explanation of my condition and the procedure that could potentially cure it. He is obviously very experienced in his specialism and I was confident to go ahead with a procedure which I had been discounting for many years. The operation was a success and I feel free of a burden that was starting to impact on my quality of life - Thank you Dr Fox!
