Dr Aruni was a very supportive and professional doctor. She gave me plenty of information regarding the pros and cons of having the procedure which made my decision much more informed. She made the procedure as comfortable as possible for me.

I had a long issue of itching on my right upper thigh. I had a feeling that doctors will not have a solution for this after getting treatment from one doctor. Finally I made up my mind and showed the issue to [Dr. Aruni Ranasinghe]. She patiently checked the whole issue and all the suggestions made by her helped me a lot. Thanks to her.

I have been Very impressed by Dr Ranasinghe with her care diagnosis and medical care, to help recover the skin condition on my head. Which was not very pleasant looking and gave me concerns as to whether I would ever get some normality back after many years of enduring the problem and physical embarrassment. In 2 years she has worked to find remedies and now has returned my scalp to some semblance of normality, and the future is down to me taking her advise and skin care recommendations. She is also a rarity in my experience, being one of very few Consultants that listen to the patient, and communicate a level of understanding that gives confidence in her, and her treatment. I am not sure I am qualified to make any suggestions on how Dr Ranasinghe could improve, certainly based on my care.

I suffer with Dermotillomania/Excoriation Disorder (skin picking disorder) and spent years seeking support to help beat my disorder, but without success. Many of the doctors and nurses prior to meeting Dr Ranasinghe, although well intended, often caused me more trauma and shame on top of that which I already felt from my condition. Dr Ranasinghe has been like a breath of fresh air for me in my treatment and her help could not have come at a better time for me. From first meeting she was positive, warm, non-judgemental and professional. Dr Ranasinghe struck an important balance between assessing and treating my skin condition and also caring about my holistic needs as a patient. As they often can be, they were connected. Dr Ranasinghe referred me as required and from her empowering support and validation of my real suffering, I am well on the way to beating my skin issues for good. I cannot thank her enough and would recommend Dr Ranasinghe as an experienced, safe and supportive pair of hands for her field of (Psycho)dermatology.
