I had my medical abortion booked and prepared myself for this, only to be called the day before and told it would need to be a surgical abortion due to my medication. Emotionally, this was pretty traumatic. The lady on the phone was very apologetic and proceeded to book my surgical abortion asap, on the same date as the assessment rather than have 2 appointments and prolonging the agony. However, I was told to arrive with a full bladder for the scan. This shouldn't have happened as I was due to have the procedure and therefore nil by mouth, which I wasn't told. This resulted in my surgical procedure being delayed and me being in the clinic a lot longer. The staff are lovely but better pre appointment communication is needed
